Electric vehicle (EV) retail sales in India saw a significant surge in July 2026, with overall sales increasing by 66% to 328,000 units. This growth can be attributed to a sharp rise in electric two-wheeler sales, which not only crossed the 200,000 unit mark for the first time but also saw an 88% year-over-year increase. The increasing popularity of electric two-wheelers has led to a significant market share gain, from 7.7% to 11.2%, indicating a shift towards cleaner and more environmentally friendly transportation options.
